Keaghlan Ashley originally discovered special effects makeup when she was performing and designing for community and regional theatre. She found character makeup an intriguing form of expression that she could use to push her own characters and performances further. She attended Stage Makeup Courses as a part of her Theatrical Degree at Ventura College and was immediately determined to make a career out of the art of makeup. With that background in musical theatre, she gives intense scrutiny to how the makeup will appear in action. She is a versatile visual and performing artist committed to creating innovative characters and thought provoking imagery. Over the past ten years she has been able to parlay theatre into an expansive skill set including but not limited to: Beauty Makeup, Special Makeup Effects, Sculpture, Mold Making, Prosthetic Design & Application, Costume Design, Illustration, Painting and Character Design. She is a graduate of the Tom Savini Special Makeup Effects Program and studied under world renowned Fantasy Artist and Illustrator, Dorian Cleavenger. For two years she was the resident instructor and lead Special Makeup Effects instructor in San Francisco, CA. She currently works with some of the biggest CosPlayers in the industry as a commissioned makeup artist. Her work can be seen in film, television, and the stage, working with names in horror including Kevin Tenney, Douglas Tait, Doug Jones, Kevin Meirs and Kane Hodder. She was most recently seen on Season 7 of Face Off.
